Kale chips make a nice accompaniment to dips or can be eaten as a snack. I like to use the curly kale but you can use any variety. Be aware that the kale will shrink quite a bit during drying, so you can keep the pieces larger and make more than you think you will need. They are easy to make simply wash the kale, remove the leaves from the stem and place in a bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well with your hands.
- 4 large hand fulls of curly kale
- 4 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp tamari
- 1/4 tsp ground pepper
- 2 tbsp unhulled sesame seeds (optional = 1 apple)
You can use a dehydrator or bake in the oven.
For dehydrator: Lay out baking paper on your dehydrator tray, spread the kale evenly. Can be dehydrated for up to 4 hours.
If using an oven: Preheat an oven to 160 degrees C. Line the baking tray with baking paper and bake for 15 minutes or until crispy.
Total Value = 3 Apples
